May 26th we went out to the farm for the guys to brand and cut the calf’s. Chet said they usually do it sooner but Larry wanted to wait for Zack to be here so that he could help. He figured Zack would enjoy it.

Putting the first calf on the ground. They don’t have a chute so they have to catch the calf’s and put them on the ground and just hold them down.

I felt bad for the little guy but they seem to bounce back right away not knowing what just happened.

Larry trying to put the calf on the ground this one was a bit of a stubborn little guy.
So Chet took a try at throwing him down.
The rope got lose on this one and the calf stomped the heck out of Chet’s ankle.
Zack took a try and the calf threw him into the air it was pretty funny to see. So Chet hopped in and helped while holding the rope as well. The got him down.
Larry Branding Bull Calf number 2
The smell of the branding is quite the smell.
Chet held him down while Zack untied him. Check out that brand! I think they look pretty cool when they are done.
